Actor

Hailing from Northern California, Joyah (they/she) has become a highly caffeinated multi-hyphenate in New York City. As an actor, Joyah has performed on stages far and wide, from New York establishments off-broadway to regionally acclaimed institutions like Williamstown theatre festival and ACT San Francisco. Joyah has even received international acclaim for performances with Charlie and RWS Entertainment. They have also graced the screen in comedic and dramatic roles in The Following (Fox), Do You Dance, Ms. Parker? (KBS) and various comedic shorts. Joyah’s favorite part of theatre is the collaboration. Joyah has been a part of the developmental process for various shows including the first Immersive musical in NYC, The Bad Years by Kait Kerrigan and B Lowdermilk.) Other highlights include Moonkfaker by Samuel French and Kyle Wilson, The First Year by Chandra McClelland and May-Elise Martinsen, Held: A Musical Fantasy by Kelly Maxwell and Meghan Rose and At The Barre by SMJ. They currently tour as a member of the Andrews Sister inspired trio: America’s Sweethearts. Joyah is a proud member of AEA and Ring of Keys.

Charlie: Improvised Musicals

Charlie is an internationally acclaimed musical improv team comprised of singers, dancers and musicians.

Using long-form improvisation, they create a 45 minute complete musical based on a suggestion from the audience. Their shows are always heartfelt and hilarious, featuring lyrics, melodies, harmonies and choreography created on the spot.

The daydreams of a modern day writer bring him to a 1920's speakeasy where he finds himself infatuated with a woman- the quick witted, dark, and alluring Dorothy Parker. The two soon enter a dance of rhetoric mimicked by the choreography of the other patrons, creating a fantastical world which implores this man to stop yearning for the past and start live in the present.
